i'm definitely in kansas, and i LOVE it!

So really quick, just have to say...
I LOVE KANSAS! This is the greatest week I've ever had on tour, the people here are amazing. The girls are even MORE amazing! We spent Sunday driving fourteen hours down here to Olathe, Kansas and we spent the first two nights with a really great older family (with the cutest hint of a southern drawl!) and were introduced to an incredible breakfast of biscuts and gravy.. YUM. And so we did an event on Monday at their church and then tuesday we had a day off. We drove like fifteen minutes to our next billet who are actually not home.. we have an incredibly big, gorgeous home to ourselves for two nights.. (We'll be leaving .. in an hour actually.) And it was great, we spent our day off in Kansas city checking out the Plaza (North America's first outdoor mall) and then came back to our home and had some sweet team bonding time while watching American Idol and making food and just having a blast. (Had a minor blonde moment at one point in the evening ... 'Wouldn't it be great if we all lived in a big house together, just us!?'... hmm. Something about Kansas though.. it's just special haha.)
And then last night we did another event here in Olathe and WOW. Hands down, my most favorite event. About forty girls showed up, all in grade seven, eight and nine. And from the minute we went out to meet them during registration they were so excited and so sweet! One girl stands out the most, Lauren... she was so funny. She's in grade eight and just bubbling over with energy and her and her friends were so pumped that we were from Canada! Haha. We spent like the first half hour before the event started talking about the way we all talk different...
According to Lauren I sound the most American (yeah!) and Heather.. sounds Russian. Haha, I'm not sure she's ever heard a Russian speak.. :P But yeah so that set the event off great and it just kept going! They were excited and just really great to talk to and spend time with...
At the end Lauren gave me a big hug and told me "I'm never going to forget this night! I love my new best friends from Canada! I wish you could stay so we could get to know you more and more..!" Ahh such a sweetheart! And they were all like that, so much FUN! :)
So I just had to quickly blog and express my growing love for Kansas... like my favorite!! Today we're driving five hours to... our next destination haha I'm not sure where it's at and then we have an event Friday and our big double event (junior in the afternoon; senior in the evening) Saturday! Pray for those events that the excitement and energy of our team just keeps going and that the girls coming are excited and open to everything God wants to share with them! Sunday we're driving back to Kansas City and going have IHOP day! (International House of Pancakes followed by a service at the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PRAYER! So excited! And that's also Jessica's birthday!) And then Monday we drive another fourteen hours back up to Winnipeg! So excited!
Love you all, thanks for the prayers, emails, texts... :) It's nice to be missed and loved!
Tracey
