So I decided to create a blog instead of sending out mass emails once a week... cuz I couldn't figure out how to do that easily. So I've been at the bugirl house... a full week now! :) I love being here - the girls are so fantastic, I love them. They all call me "cute". It's kinda nice... :)
Sunday night a bunch of us went to a thing called "Beyond" at Calvary Temple here in the city which is a really cool thing. It's like a transition between youth and church... aimed at young adults. The praise and worship was really awesome and when we sang the song 'Lifesong' I was half singing half praying and just thanking God so much for bringing me to this place and to this ministry. I'm honestly just so excited to be involved and get on the road and just see what God's got in store for me this year... The speaker spoke about the Mount of Transfiguration and how we can't just sit back and look at the mountain, there comes a time when we get called to climb it and to go further to reaching God and I feel like that's what I'm doing this year... I can already feel it's going to be life changing! And it was just so refreshing have this excitement in Him just before starting training.
Speaking of training... Monday was the first day of "work" at the FLN offices. It's great, we've been working on devotions and covenents to God for the year and every afternoon we make beanie bugs which get sold at the events to remind girls that they are beautiful and unique girls. I'm sooo sick of cutting fabric... but today we got to see them nearing the finishing stages... and it's so worth it, they are cute! We all got to custom design our own too - mine is purple :)
Tomorrow we're going on a one night retreat to a lake, name of which I forget, so that should be fun. All of us interns (Erika, Kylagh, Jenn, Natalie B, Natalie E, Katelyn and Heather) and team leaders (Jessica and Linnea) who are the girls that will be going on tour and also the ones that live in the house with me, have been getting along really great so I'm excited to dig deeper and get to know each other even better. And next week we get to find out what our teams are! (We get split into two - beach team and pajama team and for second semester we switch event themes). We also get to find out what our tour assignments will be, there's a bunch of stuff from merch, greeting, food coordinating, sound and lights, journalism... all kinds. I have a few that I'd really love to do but God knows all that! :) So we find that all out on Monday and then beginning specific event training the rest of the week!
Anyway feel free to pray for us as we head out for the retreat tomorrow morning and just that it would be a really great time and that we would all allow ourselves to become really transparent to one another so we can really connect and stuff... :)
Love you forever - especially since your reading this means you have some kind of interest in my life. That's special :)
PS. What I'm missing the most about home right now... keilke, shmounfat and farmer sausage... oh... I really am Mennonite...
